Welcome, RevPit First Readers!

The Real Draft Starts Here: Deep Revision for the Book That’s Been Waiting on You

This workshop will guide you through how to approach revision as a recursive process—one that spirals deeper into the heart of your novel with every pass. You’ll learn how to diagnose the gap between what’s on the page and what you meant to write, and develop clear strategies for bringing your draft into alignment with your vision. We’ll cover practical, story-shifting tools for deepening emotional resonance, strengthening structure, and building a sustainable revision rhythm you can return to again and again.

Heads up—this is a pre-recorded workshop!

The video will be posted right here on August 1st, 2025. No need to sign up or log in. Just come back to this page and hit play when you're ready.

Meet Your Guide

Hi, I’m Tiffany Grimes

Pronouns: she/they

I’m a developmental editor, book coach, and writer who sees revision as a slow return—to what matters, to what aches, to what the story has been asking for all along. I’ve worked with hundreds of authors to deepen character motivation, clarify structure, untangle messy middles, and transform emotional resonance from flat to gut-punching. My specialty is helping writers diagnose the gap between what’s on the page and what they meant to write, and then find their way back to the heart of the story.

As a writer, my own fiction explores haunted families, stubborn identities, and the complicated ways we love and hurt each other. Raised on gothic novels and sweet tea, I now live in Oregon with two cats who graciously allow me to stay.

Whether you’re stuck in revision hell, overwhelmed by too much feedback, or just trying to trust yourself again, I’m here to remind you: your story deserves to be told—and told well.
