Burgeon Podcast Interest Form

The Burgeon Design & Editorial Team is inviting writers, editors, and publishing professionals to join Tiffany in conversation on the Residency Podcast.

The Residency Podcast is designed exclusively for the dedicated writers inside the Residency.

This resource is meant to support our writers on their creative journey through a collection of meditations to center and inspire, past 1:1 coaching sessions that offer raw, real-world advice, and writing process-focused episodes that challenge deeper engagement with writing craft.

This is a space for writers who are ready to take ownership of their creative practice, learn from the trenches, and step into the bold writer they’re meant to be.

We are most interested in guests who pitch us with a compelling topic related to the writing process or publishing industry. While we love sharing author interviews, we’re looking to have conversations that our writers can glean tangible insights from—not solely an outlet for book promotion.

We’d love pitches from guests about:

  • Specific and nuanced angles about the genre(s) they write in

  • The themes within their novel and what drew them to write about those elements

  • Their unique journey to publishing or becoming agented

  • Breaking down challenging or often undirected aspects of the publishing industry (both self-publishing and traditional publishing)

  • Getting personal with their writing and exploring their lived experience through fiction

Before You Pitch Us About a Guest Spot, Keep in Mind:

  • The purpose of this podcast is educational and community-focused, which means we’re looking for pitches that offer more than book promotion.

  • We are especially interested in highlighting and holding space for writers who are historically underrepresented in traditional publishing spaces (think queer, BIPOC, Neurodiverse, and disabled folks).

  • All pitches must be created without the use of generative AI. We are also uninterested in platforming people who use generative AI in their writing.

Guidelines for Guest Pitches:

  • Pitches should include the intended topic(s) you’d like to talk about and why you’re the guest to tackle this subject.

  • If applicable, please include personal backlinks to websites or past interviews. We will verify them.

How This Benefits You:

In addition to building your credibility, being a guest on our podcast allows you to:

  • Boost your social media platforms

  • Promote your website and work

  • Reach your target audience

  • Connect with a community of writers

How to Pitch Us:

  • Email us your guest pitch at hello@burgeondesignandeditorial.com with the subject line “Podcast Pitch.” The email should include your name, pitch, and potential title for the podcast. If we are interested in featuring you on the Residency Podcast, we will send you an email with further instructions!

We look forward to hearing from you!
