Burgeon Podcast Interest Form

The Burgeon Design & Editorial Team is inviting writers, editors, book reviewers, and publishing professionals to submit pitches for a guest blog to us

The Burgeon Design & Editorial Team is inviting writers—both published and unpublished—fiction editors and book reviewers to submit their pitches for a guest blog to us. Your pitch should be related to the publishing industry or the writing process, and specifically be of interest to writers. If you can write something for one of the topics listed below, we would especially love to hear from you!

We’d love blog pitches that:

  • Break down challenging or often undiscussed aspects of the publishing industry (both self-publishing and traditionally publishing).

  • Discuss thoughtfully writing characters of a different marginalization, culture or life experience.

  • Explore thoughtfully writing about universal themes such as grief, mental illness or trauma.

  • Get personal with your writing and how you can explore your lived experience in your fiction.

  • Showcase why a specific book is groundbreaking and what it says about a specific trend or genre, how it’s in conversation with other novels, and its impact on the publishing industry.

Before You Pitch Us About a Guest Spot, Keep in Mind:

  • All submissions must be original, unpublished content. We do not accept material that has been published anywhere else—not even if it was just on your own blog.

  • All submissions must be created without the use of generative AI.

  • We won’t claim to own your guest post, but we will own our copy of it. You can still submit or post it elsewhere after we post it. We will not republish, repackage, or sell our copy of your article.

  • Burgeon Design & Editorial does not purchase content and we do not charge for guest posts.

  • Pitches should describe the angle you intend to take in your blog post, include a breakdown of the key points the post will touch on, the importance of the subject matter to our readers, and why you’re the writer to tackle this subject.

  • We only publish polished blog posts. Expect us to request revisions.

Guidelines for Submitting Guest Posts:

  • The length of blog posts must be between 1,500-2,000 words.

  • Blog posts should be relevant, interesting, and useful for writers.

  • Blog posts must be original and have an authentic voice.

  • Blog posts must be in-depth and honest about their chosen topic.

  • Blog posts must not be created with the use of generative AI.

  • Blog posts must follow Burgeon Design & Editorial's format, including an intro and sub-headers. (You can find examples on our website.)

  • You are only allowed two personal backlinks. We will verify them before your posts go live.

How This Benefits You:

In addition to building your credibility, a guest blog allows you to:

  • Boost your social media platforms

  • Promote your website and work

  • Links to your blog

  • Reach your target audience

  • Work with our professional editorial team to refine and publish the best version of your work

  • Connect with your community
